Bebe Rexha was not having it when a record label executive told her that she’s too old to post “sexy” pictures on social media. The 29 year old singer released a statement including:
“I’m a songwriter and I post sexy pics on my Instagram and that’s not what female songwriters are [supposed] to do, especially for my age. I’m 29… I’m fed up with being put in a box. I make my own rules. I’m tired of women getting labeled as ‘hags’ when they get old and guys get labeled as sexy with age.”
Many fans and celebrities are rallying with the “Meant to be” singer including Taylor Swift (Also 29), Rita Ora, and more. According to CNN, Rexha is known for pushing back. In January she used her Instagram account to say that unnamed fashion designers were declining to dress her for the Grammys as they said she was “too big.”
