5 Ways You’re Eating Italian Food Wrong

Italian food comes with rules, and we’re breaking all of them.

A poll looked at the ways we’re embarrassing ourselves, and here’s what we’ve got.

1.  Eating garlic bread with pasta or as an appetizer. Just because Olive Garden loads you up with the breadsticks doesn’t mean it’s authentic. It is delicious, though.

2.  Ordering stuffed-crust pizza. It’s exhibit A why American pizza isn’t seen as real pizza in Italy. They’ll also shut you down after three toppings.

3.  Adding extra parmesan after your food’s been served. It’s basically an insult to the chef in Italy, like adding salt to your food at my mother’s table.

4.  Overcooking your pasta. It’s supposed to be served a little al dente, but we all knew we were doing that one wrong, right?

5.  Cutting your spaghetti up into pieces. It’s most decidedly not the Italian way to do it, and some would say it’s not the adult way to do it either. And to them I say, I will continue to cut my spaghetti like the overgrown child I am.
