Everyone has probably heard someone say that you should avoid using unnecessary “filler” words at work  like “um” or “like” because it can sound unprofessional.

In a recent poll, 37% said that those kinds of words do make someone sound unprofessional, while 48% said they do not.

Nearly 40% of people say they use the same amount of filler words as everyone else though.
