Weirdly, a lot of today’s popular musicians were discovered by other famous musicians.

Here are some of the big ones:

1.  Drake discovered The Weeknd.

2.  Akon discovered Lady Gaga.

3.  Dr. Dre discovered Eminem.

4.  Fall Out Boy discovered Panic! At The Disco.

5.  Scooter Braun discovered Justin Bieber on YouTube, but Usher made him his, quote, “teen protégé”.

6.  Ellen DeGeneres discovered Charlie Puth on YouTube.

7.  One Direction discovered 5 Seconds of Summer on YouTube.

8.  Lil Wayne discovered Nicki Minaj.

9.  Jamie Foxx helped Ed Sheeran start his career.

10.  T.I. discovered Travis Scott.

My favorite on this list is One Direction finding 5SOS because that’s like either “we found our competition” or “we found our replacement”.
