A haven for content creators or a safe place to sex work? Starting October 1, the second part won’t be allowed. According to Bloomberg, the platform needs to attract banking partners and payment providers, but there are still obvious stigmas attached to sex work of any kind including the popularized pornography that was all over the site.

Bloomberg reports that people will “still be allowed to put up nude photos and videos, provided they’re consistent with OnlyFans’ policy” — whatever that means. We’ll have to wait and see, I suppose.

To some this is great news, but here are some initial reactions on Twitter to the news in opposition to the announcement:

There’s something insanely gross about OnlyFans growing their entire business via sex workers then once they were huge kicking them off to satisfy tech/financial companies and I hope sex workers find another site they can safely use that supports them and OnlyFans is deserted
