Saweetie’s new video for “Closer” featuring H.E.R. has all the glitz and glam you’ve seen before in Ariana Grande’s “7 Rings” video. And there’s a perfectly good reason for that. They were both directed by Hannah Lux-Davis.

Saweetie’s video with H.E.R. is all about an over-the-top girls trip around the world where the two of them are literally flying the plane on their way to have back-to-back dates with different hot guys at their destinations. The dance segments are simple, yet sensual. And there’s an overwhelming color palette of baby blue and light pinks.

No wonder it reminded me of Ariana. There’s a strong MAGENTA presence and no shortage of over-the-top decor and dance segments. I am not obsessed with this director’s work.
