When Billie Eilish started putting music out in 2017, she thought it was weird that people found it depressing.

In a preview for Audible’s upcoming “Origins“ podcast, she said, “I was like, ‘What are you talking about?  Have you listened to The Beatles and ‘While My Guitar Gently Weeps’ and ‘Yesterday’ and Lana Del Rey?’ . . .

“It was so surprising to me that people thought anything I was creating was dark.  I mean, it’s real.”

All eight episodes, including Billie’s, come out November 17th.  The series focuses on artists sharing their origin story.  It’ll also include Doja Cat, Mickey Guyton, and Flying Lotus.
