The Scientific Reason For Women’s Cold Hands & Feet

Yesterday I spent a good portion of my day using my FiancĂ© as a human heater to try to get feeling back into my hands and feet. The winter can be exhausting for women who have constant cold hands and feet. Sometimes I even wake up from naps because my feet are so cold. Socks, blankets, hot showers all don’t fully fix the issue. Science has proven that  women’s hands and feet tend to run 2.8 degrees Fahrenheit colder than men’s. When it’s cold our blood vessels constrict and send that blood to our vital organs to keep them safe. Women end up colder because of size and having more fat in their body than muscle (typically) which means you lose heat faster. So… being a woman continues to be awesome….
