Six months ago, Katy Perry popped out a baby who she had spent the previous nine months growing. And now, in standard dad fashion, her fiancé Orlando Bloom is making it his life’s mission to have that child say “dad” before she says “mom.”

He says, “I sing anything that has ‘daddy’ in it, just because I want her to say dad before she says anything else.” And it might be working. “She sort of has said a bit of ‘dada’. Every time I come up she’s very excited to see me.”

Orlando and Katy welcomed their daughter Daisy Dove this past August. He also has a 10-year-old son with ex-wife Miranda Kerr, but there’s no word if he pulled this garbage on her, too.

I realize that as a mother myself, I should be mad about this and I kind of am, but you have to remember a) literally every dad ever pulls this nonsense and b) if she says “dad” first, guess who she’s calling for in the middle of the night? Exactly.
