Is this the beginning of the end? Netflix is testing out a new pop-up on some accounts in an effort to end password-sharing.
According to CNN Business, some people will start to see an alert when they go to watch their favorite shows (*cough* The Great British Baking Show *cough*). It will prompt them to enter a code sent to the owner of the account’s phone or email. If you don’t have that code, you might be screwed.
I share an account with my family and we have a premium account that lets us watch on multiple screens at once. People on Twitter are making a point that that should be enough for the streaming service to leave them alone.
I don’t share my password with anyone but shouldn’t the screen limit be enough? If you pay for 5 screens what does it matter where and who’s screens those are?

Keep in mind, this is only a testing phase right now and not everyone will see these pop-ups. But I don’t like where it’s heading.
I hope the people at the top realize that they are the most expensive streaming service in a time where the number of streaming services gets bigger on the regular. Because I can get new shows if I have to.
