I know everyone’s talking about the Grammys, but people got (virtually) slimed on Saturday and we can’t forget about that.

The 34th Annual Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards happened on Saturday, and thanks to the seemingly never ending pandemic, it was the second annual slime-fest to happen virtually. Here are six highlights from the show:
1. There was only one musical guest: JUSTIN BIEBER. He performed “Intentions” with QUAVO and a couple new songs off his upcoming album “Justice”. (Here’s “Intentions” and the new songs.)
2. Justin was also one of the big winners. He was won Favorite Male Artist, and “Stuck with U”, his song with ARIANA GRANDE, won Favorite Music Collaboration.
3. This was not a good weekend for THE WEEKND. He didn’t get any love at last night’s Grammys (because he wasn’t even nominated) and although he was up for Favorite Male Artist and Favorite Song at the Kids’ Choice Awards, he didn’t win anything. “Dynamite” by BTS won Favorite Song. BTS also won the awards for Favorite Music Group and Favorite Global Music Star.
4. KENAN THOMPSON hosted for the first time, and he was fun doing crazy things like dressing up as a giant baby and giving a lesson on the history of slime by pouring green goo on pictures of the Founding Fathers. (Here’s the opening song.)
5. Speaking of the goo, the sliming did still happen. This year’s victims included TikTok star Charli D’Amelio, “Hamilton” star Lin-Manuel Miranda, actress Liza Koshy and Robert Downey, Jr. Kenan also closed out the show by setting a new Guinness World Record for most people slimed simultaneously online. They were all random kids, not celebrities.
6. Vice President Kamala Harris spoke. She said, “When I was young, my mother used to say, ‘Kamala, don’t just sit around and complain about things. Do something about it.’ Well you are doing something. You are creating a better future . . . thank you for stepping up [during the pandemic]. You make us and your country so proud.” (Here’s her speech.)
And here are more clips from the ceremony, and here’s a list of winners.
