Does Olivia Rodrigo Just Steal Stuff from Other Artists?

OLIVIA RODRIGO had to update her song “Good 4 U” by giving songwriting credits to two additional people: Paramore’s Hayley Williams and former guitarist Joshua Farro.

By doing so, she’s acknowledging that the song is an “interpolation” of Paramore’s 2007 hit “Misery Business”. Sources say the two sides were “in communication” about the issue even before “Good 4 U” came out in May.

This is actually the second time this has happened. Last month, Taylor SwiftJack Antonoff, and St. Vincent were added retroactively as co-writers to Olivia’s song “Déjà vu” because it was determined to be an interpolation of Taylor’s track “Cruel Summer”.

On a similar note, Rodrigo did a prom-themed photo shoot, and COURTNEY LOVE accused her of plagiarizing the cover of the HOLE album “Live Through This”. Or should I say “interpolating”?

Haters gonna hate, and I’m obviously not a songwriter, but I would think it has to be about impossible to create new music if you’ve ever listened to any music ever. There’s no way you’d never be influenced by something you’ve heard before.
