Taylor Swift’s Red (Taylor’s Version) gifted us with a 10 minute version of “All Too Well”, now the longest song to reach Number 1. The album itself broke streaming records, but no one really knew if it would be eligible for this year’s Grammys. Until now.
According to the Academy’s “rules and guidelines” handbook, “Updated, revised or expanded versions of previously submitted albums will not be eligible” for Grammy Awards. But! The organization told Billboard that Red (Taylor’s Version) will be eligible for consideration “as it is a new recording.”
In other words, we have a loophole that could land Taylor her fifth nomination for Album of the Year. The original album was nominated in 2012 so it’s a real possibility.
If she does get the nomination, she’ll be right behind Barbra Streisand as the woman with the most Album of the Year nominations. NBD
