Remember when Taco Bell got rid of the Mexican Pizza a few years ago, the internet convinced them to bring it back this past May, they immediately ran out of them, and you’ve been waiting for it to make its official return ever since? Buckle up because this wild ride is just getting started.
First things first. . .the Mexican Pizza is coming back to Taco Bell on September 15th where it shall remain on the menu until the end of time.
Second things second. . .someone at Taco Bell looked at this soap opera, realized a taco is really just a pizza folded in half, and decided to give the people what they want: a real(ish) pizza at Taco Bell.
It’s called the Cheesy Chipotle Chicken Flatbread, and it’s a toasted flatbread with chicken, onions, cheese, tortilla strips, and chipotle sauce. You can even add jalapenos if you have braver taste buds than I do.
They’re currently testing them at a few locations in Charlotte, North Carolina, but it’s not clear if or when they plan to go nationwide with it. It’s also not clear if any other topping combinations are in the works. What is clear, however, is those Taco Bell/Pizza Hut/KFC restaurants have started making babies.
