Lizzo Played A Presidential Crystal Flute

Today we learn that the Library of Congress includes over 1800 flutes, one of which Lizzo just played during her show in Washington, D.C.

The Library of Congress invited Lizzo to come check out their flute collection and even play a couple while she was in D.C. She obviously jumped at the chance, and then took it one step further by inviting one of the flutes to her show.

With a lot of security, they got a crystal flute made in 1813 for President James Madison to Lizzo at the Capital One Arena where she made history by being the first person to play the 200 year old flute.

I’m calling it the Trill ‘n Twerk (the Twerk ‘n Trill?) and, as a former flautist, can only hope we see it in marching band halftime shows across America.
