Dua Lipa releases her third studio album, “Radical Optimism” on May 3rd. Recently, the 28-year-old “New Rules” singer looked back on how she pushed herself to experiment with a new style when creating the follow up from her 2020 release, “Future Nostalgia”, which came out right at the start of the pandemic.
“…everything was delayed because I had been on tour, and during that tour, every break that I had in between, I went to the studio… it was very important to have a sonic separation and to try to experiment with different sounds.”
The new album, which features Lipa’s current hit single, Houdini, will be her first in over four years, and from everything being heard so far, it should be her strongest release yet!
“I think my voice has changed. Especially when I listened to my earlier records. I think being on tour for a whole year, in 2022, and then also recording the record, like it’s a muscle… I feel like my vocal capabilities just got better. And I have much more control over my own voice.”
